Ousted Ellisville Mayor Files Appeal
ELLISVILLE, Mo. - The man ousted earlier this month as mayor of the St. Louis County town of Ellisville is suing to get his job back.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Adam Paul filed an appeal in St. Louis County Circuit Court Wednesday. He is asking a judge to overturn the city council's April 8 decision to remove him from office.
He also sued the city attorney, city manager and a resident, alleging defamation of character and conspiracy to remove from office.
Paul delivered the lawsuit to the city council on Wednesday. It seeks unspecified damages.
Paul was elected in 2012 after campaigning against tax incentives for a Walmart development. The council ousted him for a variety of things such as giving illegal orders to city workers and failing to control meetings.
