ST. LOUIS -- Corey Samples finished with the fourth-fastest time of any collegian at the St. Louis Fall Cross Country Classic, posting a mark of 26:10.5 in the event. The Owls did not compete as a team, sending only four runners to the event as a final tune-up for the AMC Championships.

Zach Bryant clocked a time of 27:53.6 over the 8K, with Brandon Buchanan posting a time of 28:35.2. Reid Schmit rounded out the runners for WWU with a time of 28:42.6.

Abby Baker posted a sub-19:00 5K to lead the William Woods University women's cross country team to a second-place finish at the St. Louis Fall Cross Country Classic on Saturday. Baker clocked a 18:55.6, the fastest collegiate time in the field and better than 20 seconds faster than the next college runner in the field. The Owls outpaced AMC foes Colubia College, Stephens College and Missouri Baptist University in the meet.

Lee Anna Sanders also finished in the top 10 of the college field, with a time of 19:44.9. Courtney Henderson was just 6.1 second off the pace of Sanders, finishing 14th with a time of 19:51.0 on the Forest Park course.
