Pair of third period goals doom the Blues
St. Louis - The St. Louis Blues entered the third period with a 2-1 lead, but after two unanswered Anaheim goals, the Ducks escaped with a 3-2 road win.
Ben Street netted the tying goal on a deflection with 12:45 to go in the third. Andrew Cogliano broke the backs of the Blues with a point blank power play goal with just one second remaining on the power play and 6:45 to go in the game. Alexander Steen and Tyler Bozak scored the Blues two goals, both during the second period. Each team finished the game with 31 shots on goal, but it was Anaheim who controlled play during that deciding third period.
The Blues drop to 1-2-2 on the young season after the loss, and will travel to Montreal to play the Canadiens on Wednesday.
