COLUMBIA - After five years of a growing business, Peggy Jean's Pies is moving to a new location.

With a higher demand for pies, the current store on Buttonwood Drive could not hold order capacity anymore. Co-owner, Rebecca Miller, said she's had to turn away customers.

"We're really just out of room. We've also progressed as bakers and we're making them [pies] faster than the oven can hold," she said.

After a meeting, the team decided that moving to a new shop is the only way to combat the order overflow. Miller and her mom and co-owner, Jeanne Plumley, searched various buildings and business to sell their pies.

The new store is right around corner, located at 503C East Nifong.

The building is exactly twice the space of the first store, measuring at 2,100 square feet. Miller and Plumley are excited about the opportunities the new store will bring.

"We'll see how we do in the first one or two years. Then I'd like to start thinking about where this will take us," said Miller.

The grand opening is scheduled for September 13.
