Pizza delivery driver robbed at gunpoint
JEFFERSON CITY - A pizza delivery driver told police a man robbed him at gunpoint while he was making a delivery Tuesday night, according to Capt. Doug Shoemaker.
The driver told police the robbery happened around midnight near the 200 block of Marshall Street. Shoemaker said the driver tried to deliver a pizza to an apartment in the area, but the person he was supposed to contact told him he had not ordered a pizza.
While the driver was walking back to his vehicle, a man confronted him and pointed a handgun at him, according to Shoemaker. The victim told police the man demanded money and also took some of the food the delivery driver had.
Shoemaker said the man then ran away, and the driver contacted police shortly after. Shoemaker said officers could not find a suspect or any significant investigative information. The driver was not hurt.
