ROLLA - The Rolla Police Department responded to an armed barricaded subject at the Rolla post office Sunday afternoon. The Rolla Police reported the suspect took his own life by a single gunshot wound.

According to the Rolla Police Department, the suspect was identified as a 32-year-old male employee of the post office armed with a handgun. The suspect had been suffering from emotional problems and had gone through a divorce recently, police said.

There were three hostages but they were released by the suspect, police said. One hostage was able to call police from her cell phone. Police have confirmed that there are no more hostages in the building as of 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
