Police Arrest Drivers of Stolen Car
COLUMBIA - Two men are in jail after police pulled them over driving a stolen car.
Around 4:00 a.m. a Columbia Police Officer noticed a suspicious car driving near I-70 and U.S. 63. After entering the license plate in his car computer, he discovered the car had been reported stolen by Centralia Police on Aug. 22.
Police pulled the car over and found a 9mm handgun in the glove box. They arrested Damian Dancy, the driver, for 1st Degree Tampering, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Posession of Certain Weapons Prohibited. Dancy is a convicted felon and not permitted to own a handgun.
Police also arrested the passenger, Antonio Banks, for a felony warrant and 2nd Degree Tampering.
