Police: Burglary Suspect Tossed Chair at Officer
ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) - A suburban St. Louis man is jailed for allegedly kicking in the door of a St. Charles restaurant, then hurling furniture at the police officer who responded to the break-in.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 25-year-old Cody Woods of Maryland Heights is charged with attempted burglary, property damage and attempted assault on a law enforcement officer. He is held on $10,000 cash-only bond.
Police say Woods punched out a window and coach light, then kicked in the door of Alice's Tea Room on Saturday. When a St. Charles officer arrived, Woods allegedly picked up a wrought iron chair and hurled it from the second-floor balcony. The officer dodged the chair and was not hurt.
