Police chase, arrest man after shot fired call
JEFFERSON CITY - The Jefferson City Police Department took a man into custody Wednesday after he led officers on an early morning pursuit.
Police said officers responded to a call of a shot fired near Elizabeth and Buena Vista streets just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The responding officers saw a vehicle leaving the scene. When the officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver jumped out and fled on foot.
Officers chased the suspect until he reached a creek, where he fell and police took him into custody. Officers found a stolen .38 special revolver near him, which officers said was loaded with one spent casing.
Police arrested 25-year-old DeAngelo Fraizer of Jefferson City for felony resisting arrest, felony receiving stolen property, and unlawful use of a firearm. He was taken to the Cole County Jail awaiting charges.
Police said there were no injuries during the pursuit and arrest.
