2 children wounded after toddler finds gun in dads backpack

ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis police have identified the man whose fatal shooting forced closure of an interstate highway over the weekend.

Police say 29-year-old Frencheric Nelson of East St. Louis, Illinois, was in the driver's seat of an SUV on Interstate 64 when he was fatally shot Saturday afternoon. Nelson's name was released Monday.

Police have not released any other information about the shooting. No arrests have been disclosed.

Officers found Nelson in the driver's seat of the SUV. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting forced closure of the interstate, causing traffic jams when the St. Louis Cardinals' game with the Pittsburgh Pirates ended a short time later.

Westbound lanes were closed for about two hours.
