Police Investigate Jefferson City Homicide
JEFFERSON CITY - Police responded to a homicide Thursday evening that left one man dead and another in the hospital.
Police got the call at 7:22 p.m. Thursday about a homicide on the 300 block of Schroeder Way.
Police arrived and stopped a car. One man in the car fled from police on foot. He got away after a short foot pursuit.
Inside the car, police found a deceased man with gunshot wounds.
On the 300 block of Dunklin Street, police found a second victim, alive but injured, by following a trail of blood. The victim was taken to St. Mary's Hospital by ambulance, but later flown to University Hospital in Columbia by helicopter.
The investigation is ongoing.
