COLUMBIA - At about 3:50 p.m. Friday, police said a man robbed Landmark Bank at 10 North Garth Ave.

According to officers, a man entered the bank and demanded money from the teller. The suspect did not display a weapon.

After leaving the bank, the suspect ran north with an undisclosed amount of money.

Scott Cristal said he has been a customer at this Landmark Bank location for more than 15 years but has never had any problems.

"Security always seemed real good. There's cameras and like I said there's never seemed to be any reason for any issues," said Cristal. "I hope they catch him and I hope they try and start coming up with ways to try and discourage this type of thing from happening in the future."

Police said the suspect is a black male with medium complexion and approximately between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall. He is a medium build with scruffy facial hair and was wearing sunglasses at the time of the robbery.

This is the second robbery at a Landmark location this week. The other one happened Monday at the Landmark Bank on Stadium Blvd.

If anyone has any information about either of these incidents, the police ask you to call the Columbia Police Department at (573) 874-7652 or Crime Stoppers at (573) 875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
