Police looking for suspect after woman shot in Jefferson City
JEFFERSON CITY - Police are looking for a man in connection with a shooting early Tuesday morning that left a woman injured.
The shooting happened in the 500 block of East Elm Street shortly before 3 a.m. Officers arrived and found a woman with a gunshot wound in her shoulder. She was taken first to Capital Region Medical Center, then to University Hospital in Columbia.
Officers identified the suspect in the shooting as 21-year-old Quency Floyd of Jefferson City. Floyd is not in custody at this time. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on suspicion of domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
The investigation determined the incident was a result of domestic dispute.
