Police seek man for question in St. Louis-area girl's death
BARNHART (AP) — St. Louis-area investigators said they are seeking a 25-year-old man for questioning in a 3-year-old girl's death.
Jefferson County authorities said the man may have been the last person to see the child alive in the Barnhart area before she was found dead Monday morning.
Investigators have not yet released the girl's name.
Sheriff's Lt. Gary Higginbotham said the girl's mother called police about 6:30 a.m. Monday after returning home from work and finding her daughter unresponsive. The girl had what Higginbotham called "obvious signs of trauma," but he wouldn't elaborate.
A 1-year-old girl also in the home at the time wasn't hurt and is in protective custody.
