Police standoff ends peacefully in Moberly
MOBERLY - Moberly Police said a man peacefully exited his home after a standoff Sunday evening.
Major Kenna Neese with the Moberly Police Department said police received a report of a suicidal subject and responded to the 500 block of Fisk Ave. Officers made contact with the relatives of the man, who said he was upset about a death in the family.
The 30-year-old man was reportedly armed with a handgun. Moberly SWAT and a negotiator from the Missouri State Highway Patrol were called.
The man emerged from the home around 7:10 p.m. Police said he would be transported to a mental health facility.
