Police surround 2 homes, but fear booby traps
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Police in St. Louis have surrounded two homes owned by a man charged with several federal gun crimes, but the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that there is concern that the homes are booby trapped.
Police converged on the homes in the Baden neighborhood Thursday morning. Tactical trucks were brought in and authorities prepared a police robot to enter one of the homes.
The houses belong to 53-year-old David Michael Hagler. He was charged with several federal counts on Tuesday and taken into custody Wednesday.
Information obtained by the Post-Dispatch shows that authorities believe Hagler is an anarchist with extreme anti-law enforcement views.
