These mail carriers want Senator Bond to release his hold on a postal reform bill. The bill was passed in the U.S. House of Representatives. But Senator Bond is currently the only senator not allowing the issue to come to the floor for a vote. The mail carriers say they have been working on the bill for 12 years and that it is vital for the future generations of postal workers and citizens of Missouri. Letter carrier Mike Wier says postal customers wouldn't have an increase in January if this bill were passed right now. They want Senator Bond to release the bill and let it come to the floor for a vote. Bond will release a statement later today, but mail carriers say he's holding the bill because of concerns with the rate increase set up in the bill.
