Proactive Police Patrol Arrests Three
COLUMBIA - Columbia Police said Thursday they arrested three people Wendesday night for drug and other changes in what they are calling a "proactive patrol."
Two suspects, Benny Honer and Julie Nation, were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:31 p.m. when officers performed a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation at Providence and Blue Ridge Roads.
The another person arrested, Terron Taylor, was picked up on a city warrant. A patrolling police officer said he recongized Taylor when he was walking across Providence Road at Park Avenue towards the Breaktime Convenience Store at 5:35 p.m.. The officer said he first tried to make contact with Taylor, but that taylor took off running and jumped a fence. Taylor was arrested in the north pavilion at Douglass Park without incident on the city warrant for trespass in the first degree with a bond amount of $300.
