Public Hearing to Discuss Alcohol Permits
COLUMBIA - Businesses in Columbia serving food are already required to obtain a food handler's permit.
Now, they may have to do the same thing when serving alcohol. There will be a public hearing Thursday to listen to local community members' comments on a possible change.
Columbia's Substance Abuse Advisory Commission is recommending Columbia City Council members adopt an ordinance requiring all persons serving alcohol to obtain a permit. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Department of Public Health.
