Pulaski County man points rifle at deputies
PULASKI COUNTY - A man was arrested after pointing a rifle at deputies and possibly endangering a female and several small children on Saturday morning.
According to Pulaski County Sheriff Jimmy Busch, deputies were sent out for a well-being check for a male subject at around 9:30 a.m. The subject threatened to shoot himself and first responders prior to deupties' arrival.
The suspect came to the door with a rifle and pointed it at deputies. A struggle followed, with the suspect's weapon firing one shot. The suspect also pointed the rifle at the second deputy on scene. The subject was tazed and taken into custody without injuries.
An investigation by detectives determined the suspected had fired numerous rounds before deputies arrived on scene.
The suspect was arrested, transported to the Pulaksi County Jail and placed on a 24-hour charging hold. Detectives recommended charges of unlawful use of weapon, two charges of assault on law enforcement officer, endangering the welfare of a child, felon in possession of a firearm and armed criminal action.
