Railroad Construction Does Not Slow Columbia Traffic
COLUMBIA- Traffic along Business Loop 70 ran smoothly Monday, despite lane closures at a construction site near the Munipal Power Plant.
Concerns of a back-up near the power plant lessened as the morning and afternoon rush hours provided no traffic problems.
An official from the Columbia Terminal Railroad said crews will replace tracks at the railroad crossing. The tracks have not been worked on since 1994.
Construction will continue for another week and traffic will be restricted to one lane in both directions.
