Rash of burglaries, break-ins worrisome in Kennett
KENNETT (AP) - Police in the southeast Missouri town of Kennett are investigating a string of brazen home and vehicles burglaries. In some cases, thieves broke into homes while people were inside.
The Kennett Daily Dunklin Democrat reports that dozens of burglaries and vehicle break-ins have been reported since August. Four arrests have been made, but police are searching for additional suspects.
In one recent case, a man wearing a black ski mask and black hoodie broke into a home through a rear window and pointed a gun at a 13-year-old. The suspect grabbed a purse and ran out. Two other burglaries were reported within hours of that crime.
