Red Carpet Gala Helps Feed Parts of Missouri
COLUMBIA - The third annual Red Carpet Gala, a Royal Affair, hosted by Woodhaven brings attention to a local organization on Thursday night.
Woodhaven is an establishment that helps adults with developmental disabilities. The company helps adults function within their home. They encourage the people they help to give back by volunteering throughout the community.
The Red Carpet Gala will have drinks, hors'd'oeuvres and activities that will fill a ballroom. Gala goers can participate in a 50/50 raffle that will benefit the Buddy Pack Program. The program fills backpacks with snacks for kids to get by during school hours and through out the weekend.
The price of admission isn't quite free but doesn't require money. In order to enjoy the gala, five non-perishable food items need to be donated. The food items will benefit the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri.
Last year, the food bank managed to distribute over 36 million pounds of food to 114,000 people. The Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri reaches 39 counties across Missouri.
The Red Carpet Gala's doors open at 6:30 at the Kimball Ballroom at Stephen's College Campus.
