Redevelopment plan for Crestwood Mall released
CRESTWOOD (AP) - Redevelopment plans have been released for Crestwood Mall in southwest St. Louis County as part of an effort to give new life to what was once one of the region's busiest shopping areas.
Chicago-based developer UrbanStreet Group LLC on Wednesday detailed its $100 million project. It calls for demolishing the long-shuttered 1.1 million square feet of vacant retail space and replacing it with apartments, new retail and an entertainment district.
If the city approves, demolition could begin in July. New retail tenants could include a grocery store, pharmacy, convenience store and big-box stores.
