Relay for life brings hope to Boonville
BOONVILLE - It was a day full of remembrance and hope for the citizens of Boonville Saturday, as Relay For Life kicked off at the YMCA in town.
Volunteers, Cancer survives and family members of cancer patients got together to walk for a long and gruelling 10 hours along a track inside the gymnasium.
Survivers shared their stories with the community to prove that cancer was something that could be beaten.
Linda Mills lost her husband to pancreatic cancer this January and said events like this were really important to her.
"He had that social personality about him, everyone here in Boonville knew him," Mills said. "We had so much support from the community and you can tell right now, we still have that support."
