Republic daycare charged with operating without license
REPUBLIC (AP) — A day care in Republic is facing several charges after police say 5-year-old twins in the daycare's care were found wandering in the street in August.
The Springfield News-Leader reports Little Tots Learning Center and Heidi Staeger were charged Tuesday with several counts of operating a child care facility without a license.
Staeger and her former employee Shannon Kelley were also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities say Staeger operated unlicensed day care facilities at two locations in the city.
Online records do not list an attorney for either Staeger or Kelley.
