Residents take a step back in time at Renaissance festival
KINGDOM CITY - Sword fights, magic shows and singing fairies entertained fairgoers at the Central Missouri Renaissance Festival Saturday morning.
Adults and kids played games, watched shows, and enjoyed food inspired by the Renaissance era.
"We have everything from rope climbers to fire eaters," Ron Raines, who played the King at the fair, said. "A little earlier we even had a wedding."
The owner of the fairgrounds where the festival takes place was married at the fair on Saturday.
More than 800 people came to the festival Saturday and organizers said they expect more to come Sunday, the final day of the festival.
