Reward for information about missing boy raised to $11K
JEFFERSON CITY (AP) — Authorities have raised the reward for information about a missing 4-year-old Missouri boy to $11,000.
Police say Darnell Gray was last seen Wednesday night at the apartment where he lives. Darnell's father was at work when a woman who was caring for the boy reported him missing just before 7 a.m. Thursday. Also missing was the boy's coat, backpack, two juice boxes and some cookies.
Authorities have drained a pond near the apartment and searched from a helicopter. Police Lt. David Williams says the amount of time that Darnell has been missing is "beyond critical."
His disappearance doesn't meet the criteria for an Amber Alert, in part because there is no evidence that he has been abducted. But authorities have issued an endangered persons advisory for Darnell.
