Rios Exclusive: "I Didn't Have Any Involvement in Jesse's Murder."
"I always thought at this point in my life I'd be doing different things and for one day to have your life turned upside down and for you to go through this and to experience something like this everyday for this long is difficult," said Rios.
It all changed when he met a 23 year old MU student, Jesse Valencia. While admitting to his affair with Valencia, Rios explains, "No one can reduce their life to one moment and I feel guilt and responsibility for certain things but we had nothing more."
When Rios was asked if he killed Jesse Valencia his response was, "No I did not. I didn't have any involvement in Jesse's murder."
Valencia's death started a string of accusations against Rios which he says was hard on him. During his trial, Rios watched as the people closest to him, even his wife found out every little detail. "Being there and going through that and knowing what probably went through their minds and not knowing what to think and them having to go through that was more difficult or just as hard as it was for me to go through that as well," said Rios.
Rios admits, "There isn't a strong enough word having to go through something like that to defend your life, to defend your name and to go through that with your family and your friends. That was something that we had to deal with in order to fight the charges against me."
Rios says he plans to file papers for his appeal this week. "I just look forward to just being at home, being a dad and being a husband."
