Roots 'N Blues Runners Hit The Trail
COLUMBIA - Hundreds of runners hit the pavement for the Roots 'N Blues Half-Marathon and 10k on Saturday morning.
Participants lined up downtown for the two separate races. The course took runners across the Katy Trail and finished in Flat Branch Park.
Matthew Chesang, who finished second in the 10k, says his favorite part of the race was running on the Katy Trail.
"It's very nice, especially when we were running on the trail. I liked it a lot because the footing was soft and there were trees shielding us from the wind and that was very nice," Chesang says.
Top race finishers received prize money.
