Royals come from behind to beat A's
KANSAS CITY- The Royals took on the Oakland Athletics Wednesday night in the third game of the series.
Oakland started off early behind a solo homer from Marcus Semien on the second pitch of the game. The A's would add another run later in the inning off a fielder's choice that brought Matt Chapman in to take a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the first.
The Royals would not respond until the bottom of the third when Hunter Dozier blasted a two run homer to left field, tying the game up 2-2.
Oakland would waste no time getting back to work, Matt Olson got on base with an infield single and Mark Canha followed with a homer to center field to give the A's a 4-2 advantage.
The Royals would answer right back in the bottom of the fifth from a Jorge Soler RBI double that brought the A's lead down to just one. Ryan O'Hearn would follow with a solo homer to knot it up 4-4.
In the bottom of the seventh the Royals would continue their momentum starting with loaded bases with no outs. Kansas City would drive two runs in off a Doizer single and a double play that brought Merrifield home making it 6-4 Kansas City.
This would give the Royals enough space to finish out the A's and win 6-4. Kansas City gains its first win of the series and will play the A's tomorrow at 12:15 p.m. to close out the home series.
