Safer Sidewalks for Business Loop
Some businesses and residents on busy Business Loop 70 weren't aware of the project, but they think it's great despite possible lane restrictions during construction.
"I think that it will be really nice and exciting, and I'm glad to see something like this in the neighborhood," said Keith Hill, "so people don't have to run and cross traffic and get to pretty much where they need to go and be safe."
Business Loop workers said the sidewalks are overdue.
"I really think it's a good thing because we need stuff done like this around the Columbia area, and they are spending money on something that's worth spending money on," said Church's Chicken employee Brejette Jackson.
During the year-long sidewalk construction, the Columbia Water and Light Department will bury overhead utility lines.
