Sasser to be released by Rams due to heart problem
COLUMBIA - Former Missouri Tigers wide receiver Bud Sasser will be released by the St. Louis Rams because of a heart condition, according to an ESPN report Thursday.
Sasser was taken in the sixth round in this past year's NFL Draft by St. Louis. The Rams signed the Mizzou standout to his rookie contract Tuesday so they could pay him his $113,737 signing bonus before releasing him.
Sasser was an intricate part on a Mizzou team that won its second straight SEC East title this past year. He led the team with 77 receptions, 1,003 yards, and 12 touchdowns.
