Saying No to High Gas Prices
In mid-Missouri, this comes as gas prices are rising quickly. For most of recent memory, Columbia and the surrounding areas have been below the national average price per gallon of gas.
Even though there is a push for a gas boycott, some customers in Columbia are filling up anyway. They said they can't drive without it.
Right now the state average per gallon of gas is $3.06 with the national average at $3.08. Most Columbia gas stations are hovering around $3.15.
Mike Wright, an American Automobile Association representative, said Columbia probably won't be above the national average for long, but this is because the national average will catch up and should be near $3.15 per gallon soon.
