Schnucks to open natural food store in former Lucky's location
COLUMBIA - Schnucks announced Wednesday it will turn the former Lucky's grocery store location on South Providence into a natural food store.
The St. Louis-based grocery chain bought the Lucky's location in March. The new store, called "Eatwell, A Natural Food Store by Schnucks," is slated to open in "early summer 2020," according to a news release.
“Our mission as a company is to nourish people’s lives and we’re excited to be able to build on that mission by launching a store where it’s easy to make healthier choices, while still also being able to pick up a few decadent treats for those special occasions that may be worth the extra calories," said Schnucks Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck in the release.
Schnucks bought the store after Lucky's filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and temporarily closed it in March
The grocery store chain said most of the 80 employees will be carried over from Lucky's, but some jobs will be made available at www.schnucks.com/careers
