School For Deaf Celebrates Homecoming
Families and friends gathered in the school's gymnasium as Angelo Harrington and Deidre Wiseman were crowned the homecoming king and queen. The coronation was a culmination of a week full of school spirit activities which included a "dress as the oposite sex" day and a school colors day. The student body nominated and voted for the king and queen. For the students, this school is more than just a place to learn.
"They really see our school as their second home and they always speak of it as their second home because they always meet their friends here. As they grow up they live here...They see each other every day in school," said Assistant School Superintendent Tom Bastan.
Following coronation the Eagles girls' and boys' basketball teams played Iowa. Both the king and queen played in the games.
