Scott Boulevard to See Changes
After nine o'clock on July 30, traffic will move to the two new lanes of Scott Boulevard. Then, the west side of Scott Boulevard will close in order to continue construction.
Several intersections will close on July 30 for the remainder of this next phase of construction.
Gillespie Bridge Road, Mesa, Rainbow Trout, and Sussex will be closed for around six to eight weeks, if everything goes as planned.
North Pinebrook and Brookview Court will alternate closings to help keep traffic moving.
When one intersection is closed, the other will stay open.
The Scott Boulevard project will widen the street to four lanes, and add a center median all the way from Rolling Road to Brookview Terrace. That's approximately 10,000 feet.
When it's all done, drivers will see some new bicycle lanes and sidewalks.
The whole project will cost more than $16 million.
The Scott Boulevard project began last spring, and the Columbia Public Works Department plans on completing it next summer.
