Second man accused in woman's 2014 killing in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A St. Louis man is charged of first-degree murder for alleged role in the killing of his girlfriend more than three years ago.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Assistant Missouri Attorney General Jennifer Szczucinski filed the charge Thursday against 31-year-old Demetrius Taylor of Florissant.
Authorities say 25-year-old April Fields of Berkeley was stabbed and strangled in January 2014. Her body was found in her car.
Court documents allege that Taylor took out a $212,000 life insurance policy on Fields a few months before her death and colluded with a co-defendant man to kill her.
Forty-one-year-old Dominic Arrington also is charged in Fields' death. He had spent 15 years in prison for killing his girlfriend's 3-year-old son.
Online court records don't show if Taylor has an attorney.
