Second St. Louis firefighter charged with equipment theft
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A second St. Louis firefighter accused of taking construction equipment from a local concrete company has been charged with felony stealing.
Prosecutors charged 49-year-old George M. Anderson Wednesday. Police said Anderson and 37-year-old Brian Burton were found with stolen equipment at a Webster Groves home.
Both men were free on bond Wednesday and Burton was on administrative leave. According to a fire department spokesman, Anderson would have 24 hours from the time of his release to notify the fire department of the arrest. Once the department has been notified, Anderson would be placed on administrative leave.
It was not immediately clear if Anderson and Burton were represented by attorneys.
