Services set for removal of tornado debris
JEFFERSON CITY - Jefferson City is offering instructions on how to get rid of the debris created by Wednesday's tornado.
The Department of Public Works has contracted Twehous Excavating to provide city residences with free disposal services for vegetative debris. People can drop off debris such as tree branches and brush at 2619 North Shamrock Road.
The site will be open from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. throughout the holiday weekend and will continue to be staffed Monday through Saturday next week.
People who live within the tornado zone are encouraged to place building and vegetative debris in separate piles next to the curb, where the city will pick them up in the coming weeks.
