Seventh slaying caps violent 24 hours in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS - Three men face murder charges in St. Louis after seven people died in six shootings over 24 hours.
A 37-year-old man whose name hasn't been released was killed in the most recent shooting Thursday afternoon. Another man was wounded in an attack that took place just hours after Police Chief Sam Dotson and Mayor Francis Slay decried a spate of killings that began Wednesday night and included the death of a 50-year-old Drury Inn night manager.
Twenty-nine-year old Ramon Demery has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Leon Rivers, one of three killings police say involved domestic disputes.
Also charged with murder Friday were 22-year-old Arthur Bolton, accused in the death of 19-year-old Kenny Burgett; and 49-year-old Willie Barnes, who is accused of killing 32-year-old Cheri Simpson.
