MILLER COUNTY - A female suspect was accused of stealing a patrol car and fleeing from sheriff's deputies early Thursday.

According to the Miller County Sheriff's Office, it started when officers conducted a traffic stop on Eastview Drive outside the city of Eldon.

Deputies said they found illegal narcotics in the possession of a female sitting in the car, who had several felony warrants out for her arrest.

Deputies said they handcuffed the female suspect and took her into custody, then, when they went to talk to the rest of occupants in the vehicle, the female suspect moved into the driver's seat of the patrol vehicle and drove away. She drove down Eastview Drive then got of the vehicle and ran on foot, deputies said.

After a wide search by multiple government organizations, the female suspect was apprehended near Maple and 8th Streets, deputies said.

The female's identity will not be released until formal charges are filed.
