Shots fired at Walmart on Grindstone; one arrested
COLUMBIA - Police say a man arrested early Saturday morning admitted to being involved in a shots fired incident at the Walmart on Grindstone Parkway in Columbia.
Police were called to the Walmart at 12:15 a.m. for a report of shots fired in the parking lot. Witnesses said the suspect's vehicle had left the area. Seven minutes later, Columbia police officers said, the vehicle was found. Demarcus Antonio Maxwell was identified as the driver.
Officers said they found a firearm and one empty casing inside the weapon.
There were no reports of anyone being injured.
Maxwell faces charges of unlawful concealment of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon and operating a vehicle on a highway with a revoked license.
