COLUMBIA - Boone County sheriff's deputies are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred Friday morning.

Around 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of East St. Charles Road and Clark Lane, a 24 year-old man told deputies he had passed a slow moving car and heard gunfire. Deputies found a bullet hole in the victims vehicle and multiple shell casings in the surrounding roadway.

The victim had three women in the car at the time of the shooting. Two women fled the scene before deputies arrived.
