ST. LOUIS (AP) - Four people are in custody after a shooting outside of a downtown St. Louis homeless shelter.

No one was apparently struck by bullets during the shooting that happened about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday near New Life Evangelistic Center.

KMOV-TV reports that after the shots were fired, the suspects got into a car and sped away. Police began a chase, and the suspects' vehicle crashed into a tree while still downtown.

The suspects tried to run but were caught.

The motive for the shooting is unclear.
