Landmark to Simmons: ATM causing problems for Ashland Residents
ASHLAND - After the Landmark Bank and Simmons First National merger on February 18, residents in Ashland are seeing some issues with their only ATM in town.
Doc Wilcox, who has been living in Ashland and has been a customer with Landmark bank for 19 years, says he's frustrated with the merger.
"They're not making a very good impression on this town, and I'm not the only one that thinks that," he said.
Last Friday, previously existing Landmark Bank ATMs and drive-through video tellers were temporarily unavailable throughout the weekend.
Some local residents expressed that the Simmons Bank ATM in Ashland has been having issues since Friday.
Residents continuously pulled in to the circle drive to be greeted by the ATM's frozen screen, which said "transaction in progress".
Resident Linda Martin, in Ashland, was there when the ATM first crashed.
"I came back after they were gone and tried to do a cash deposit and put my ATM card in the machine, followed the prompts that it gave me, put my cash in for the deposit and the system crashed," she said. "It now says transaction in progress and has been that way since Friday afternoon."
Martin said that in regard to the rest of the merger, "Its really been rather smooth."
