Skeletal remains found in Pettis County forest
SEDALIA - A Missouri Conservation Department agent found human bones in a densely-wooded area.
The agent found the remains near the Eagle Brook Farm subdivision southeast of Sedalia Saturday night.
Pettis County deputies took custody of the scene for the night. On Sunday, Pettis County investigators processed the scene with the assistance of a forensic anthropologist and an investigator from the Boone County Medical Examiners Office.
The bones and other evidence were recovered and transported to Columbia for further analysis to identify the skeleton.
The case is still under investigation.
