Skydiving accident in Camden County leaves one person injured
COLUMBIA — The Camden County Sheriff's department has confirmed federal aviation officials will investigate a skydiving accident that injured one man Saturday, according to a report from our sister station KY3.
The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. Saturday evening. The sheriff's department said four skydivers made the jump from a Cessna 182 airplane. A 30-year-old skydiver from Montreal was injured after his canopy failed to fully expand. He landed on his feet, according to the KY3 report.
The sheriff's department said the other skydivers were able to land without any problems and were not injured.
The name of the victim has not been released at this time, but he is said to have over 900 hours of experience. Federal aviation officials are expected to arrive sometime this coming week.
