St. Louis Girl, 3, Dies After Finding Gun
UPDATE: ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police believe a 3-year-old girl who died after shooting herself in the head had found the gun tucked between two mattresses.
The toddler was identified Wednesday as Liliana Moore.
Police were called Tuesday night to a south St. Louis home where KTVI-TV reports Liliana and her father were visiting the father's girlfriend. Authorities said the child was by herself in a bedroom
when she discovered the gun and was playing with it when it discharged, hitting her in the head. Liliana was pronounced dead at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis homicide detectives are investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl who shot herself in the head after finding a gun in the room where she was left alone.
The girl's name has not been released.
Police were called to a home Tuesday night in south St. Louis. Authorities say the child was left unattended in an adult bedroom while her father was out of the home. Police tell KSDK-TV they believe the girl found the gun tucked between two mattresses.
The girl was taken to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital,
where she was pronounced dead.
