St. Louis Hotel Closing 600 Rooms for Renovation
ST. LOUIS - A large hotel in downtown St. Louis is closing 600 rooms for renovation, forcing some guests to relocate and meetings to be shuffled.
The Millennium Hotel will keep just 180 rooms open, even as the busy time of the year approaches. The hotel sits just a couple of blocks from Busch Stadium and the baseball season begins in less than two weeks.
John Bettag of the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission says the CVC will work with the hotel to relocate meetings and find new rooms for guests affected by the project.
The renovation had been planned to start in the fall but was recently rescheduled. A hotel official declined comment.
